Cracks Under the Light

The fearlight haunts the icy wasteland of Islavees, infecting the animals of the island rock, driving them into blustering rages. When Wenge, a young man from the village, becomes infected, too, he faces the prejudices, fears, and betrayal of everyone around him, especially since he can curiously control the freezing impact that the fearlight passes through him. Only one person is willing to be his ally—the young chief of a nomadic tribe that spends its winters in the mountains of Islavees—but this friend is willing to burn the world down to protect and defend Wenge, and Wenge isn’t sure that’s what he wants.
